Do Australians Need an NZeTA?

No, Australian citizens do NOT need an NZeTA to visit New Zealand. However, you must pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) before traveling.

Trans-Tasman Travel Arrangement

Thanks to the special relationship between Australia and New Zealand, Australian citizens and permanent residents can travel to New Zealand without a visa or NZeTA under the Trans-Tasman Travel Arrangement.

Enter New Zealand without a visa
Stay indefinitely
Work and study without restrictions

Important: While you don't need an NZeTA, you must pay the NZD $35 International Visitor Levy (IVL) online before traveling to New Zealand. This can be paid separately on the official Immigration New Zealand website.
